In less than a week, more than 50 vehicles will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, often simply referred to as the Detroit auto show.
Car manufacturers from across the world and right here in the USA (a few not even leaving the city limits) will get together from January 14th through the 27th for almost two weeks of debuts, displays, and demonstrations.
While there will be surprises and unexpected debuts, we have also had the pleasure of a few hints and tips of what the carmakers have for us.
A few of our most anticipated releases of the 2013 North American Auto Show (in no particular order) include:
- Diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee – Many people have called and emailed asking about a diesel Jeep, and finally we’ll be able to take a look the Jeep Grand Cherokee with a diesel engine. The Cherokee is expected to be equipped with a 3.0L V6 that Fiat currently uses in oversees vehicles.
- 7th Generation of the Corvette – The Chevrolet Corvette is an absolute icon of American and muscle car engineering. The redesigned Corvette is such a huge topic in the auto industry, that Chevy is performing the Corvette debut from an undisclosed location with its own live-stream video.
- Cadillac ELR Hybrid – Cadillac’s plugin hybrid sedan will roll into the limelight among roaring fanfare and newly released “camouflaged” photos. The ELR is expected to feature high tech systems such as a lithium-ion battery, electric drive unit and propulsion system.
These three releases are just a drop in the bucket for the heavily anticipated North American International Auto Show. Cars, trucks, SUVs, hybrids, concepts, EVs, and probably a few completely unnameable automobiles will be on display in Detroit starting on Jan. 14th.
