We are proud to announce that T.J. Thomason, Sales Manager at the Westdale Used Car Superstore, has been given the Patriot Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) for his commitment to working with and supporting current military members on his staff.
Take a look at the awards presentation:
Congratulations T.J. on Winning the Patriot Award!
The award is a reflection of T.J. Thomason’s leadership and dedication to supporting our hard-working military members who have a unique set of responsibilities.
T.J. was nominated for the award by Dillion Mealman, a National Guard member who also works as a Sales Consultant at the Westdale Used Car Superstore. In a statement, Dillon said that T.J. seemingly bent over backwards in order to help him meet his National Guard obligations, especially during difficult times like the recent government shutdown, which required Dillon to become available at a moment’s notice.
Dillon Mealman has served with the National Guard for 5 years. He has been a member of the Westdale Used Car Superstore staff for over 1 year and is a valuable part of our team.
Dillon Mealman’s nomination letter for T.J. Thomason:
Throughout the time I have been employed by the Westdale Used Car Superstore and under the supervision of TJ Thomason, he has been extremely understanding of my National Guard commitments. He has seemingly bent over backwards at times to ensure that I am able to be where I need to be. From being on his toes during the government shutdown and drill dates being moments notice, to putting my military needs before other requests for time off. He has been supportive of what I do and always appreciative. I obtained a lot of skills it takes to be a successful business person while in the military, and I hadn’t even known it. Through TJ’s instruction, he has taught me how to simply refocus the skills I already had and use them to make me successful in another career field. He has been very empathetic through tough times in my family as well as some not so glorious PTSD issues that occur occasionally. He is not one to judge but rather to guide. That is why I believe that he deserves to be recognized. He was able to help me form a career worthy skill out of the things that were instilled into my military bearing.
