The Dodge Charger is the winner of Edmunds.com’s 2012 Breakthrough Technology Award. The award is presented each year to a vehicle that sets the standard for intuitive, practical and affordable automotive technology that enhances safety and convenience for both drivers and passengers. All new cars and trucks available for sale in the U.S. within the last 12 months are eligible.

The 2011 Dodge Charger won for its cutting-edge — but intuitive — UConnect Touch infotainment user interface, its reliable Bluetooth hands-free and voice-recognition features and its innovative active safety technology. Edmunds.com’s editors chose the Dodge Charger because it embodies some of the most modern technology available in a car today — and it’s available in a vehicle that’s within the budget of average consumers.

And since the Charger is a sensible sedan that masquerades as a modern day muscle car, the total package is that much more attractive to consumers and enthusiasts.

‘They Still Have a Long Way to Go’ Director Says

DETROIT — Chrysler Group is making strides to improve handling and performance of its vehicles, but the gains vary from model to model, according to tests by Consumer Reports magazine.

The magazine said today that its recent tests of eight 2011 Chrysler Group models found advances in performance, interior fit and finish and handling. But it said the level of refinement in some vehicles still lags behind rivals.

The magazine still only recommends one Chrysler Group model: the Ram truck, which has not been changed substantially for 2011.

The Dodge Durango SUV and Dodge Charger sedan, which received significant redesigns, have improved the most, the magazine said.

The Durango SUV, equipped with a V-6 or V-8 engine, received “very good’ road test scores — comparable to the redesigned 2011 Ford Explorer. But it still scores below the Toyota Highlander and the Chevrolet Traverse among mid-size SUVs and crossovers.

The Charger Rallye also received a “very good” road test score and now ranks close to the Ford Taurus and Buick LaCrosse among large sedans reviewed by the magazine.

The freshened Town & Country minivan, a virtual twin of the Dodge Grand Caravan, earned a rating of “very good.” Its road test score also improved considerably.

In a statement released today, Doug Betts, Chrysler’s senior vice president of quality, said Chrysler has launched 16 “significantly improved or redesigned products” in the last year and a half. “This amount of work in a compressed time frame is unprecedented in Chrysler’s history, and probably in the industry,” he said.

“Consumer Reports, and many other auto reviewers, are noting the difference.”

Long Way to Go

David Champion, senior director of Consumer Reports’ Auto Test Center, said in a statement: “It’s clear that Chrysler is on the right path, but they still have a long way to go,”

He added: “We see major improvements for models that have had a significant redesign. When Chrysler invests the time and money in a true redesign, the result has been a much more competitive model.”

The magazine said its automotive testers were not impressed by the redesigned Chrysler 200 or the Dodge Avenger, Jeep Compass and Patriot and Dodge Journey.

“Despite some improvements, they’re still mediocre vehicles overall, scoring at or near the bottom of their respective categories,” the magazine said in a statement.

Most Chrysler models have posted below-average reliability scores, according to Consumer Reports’ annual surveys of owners.

The automaker has also consistently logged the lowest average road-test score in the magazine’s annual report cards.

In general, the magazine’s April issue gave Chrysler’s lineup high marks for interior room and features, controls and acceleration, and low marks for reliability, fuel economy, ride, braking, fit and finish and agility.

New Lineup

Chrysler’s 16 new or revamped models represent the first major product overhaul since the automaker was placed under the control of Fiat S.p.A. upon emerging from bankruptcy in 2009. For 2011, the Dodge Charger and Durango were redesigned, and the 200, Avenger, Journey, and Town & Country were extensively updated. The Jeep Patriot and Compass received minor updates.

Consumer Reports said it will also be testing the updated Chrysler 300C, Dodge Challenger, and Fiat 500.

None of the models recently tested are recommended by the magazine. The Durango, Charger, and Town & Country are too new for Consumer Reports to have adequate reliability data to recommend.

Prices for the tested vehicles ranged from $47,375 for the Dodge Durango with a V-8 engine to $22,290 for the Avenger.

Highlights from Consumer Reports’ Tests:

“The Charger now handles responsively and has a steady, comfortable ride. Visibility also improved, but is still not great. The ride is steady and compliant. The Dodge Charger Rallye Plus ($30,945 MSRP as tested) is powered by a 292-hp, 3.6-liter V6 engine that is refined and performs well, getting 21 mpg overall in CR’s own fuel economy tests. The five-speed automatic transmission mostly shifts smoothly but it can be slow to downshift when acceleration is wanted. Braking is Very Good. The spacious cabin is well-finished.”

“The redesigned, unibody Durango is much more refined and sophisticated than the body-on-frame model it replaced. Based on the revamped Jeep Grand Cherokee, it rides well and has a well-finished cabin and usable third-row seat. Overall the ride is steady and supple. The Dodge Durango V6, ($43,785 MSRP as tested), is powered by a 290-hp, 3.6-liter V6 engine that works hard to provide modest acceleration and gets 17 mpg overall. The Durango V8, ($47,375 as tested), is powered by a 360-hp, 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that gets 14 mpg overall. Acceleration times for the heavy Durango V8 are on par with six-cylinder competitors. The five-speed automatic transmission can be unresponsive at times. Wet braking distances are long, but overall braking is Good. Cargo and towing capacity is generous, making it a good alternative to a large SUV like a Chevrolet Tahoe.”

“The updated Town & Country is much improved but still falls short of the best minivans. The compliant ride is more settled and does a good job of damping bumps. The improved interior is quiet, well-equipped and versatile. The Town & Country Touring-L ($37,505 MSRP as tested,) is powered by a 283-hp, 3.6-liter V6 engine that is smooth and powerful and gets 17 mpg overall. Fuel economy is the lowest of currently tested minivans. The six-speed automatic transmission doesn’t shift smoothly. Braking is Very Good. Interior quality has improved and is well-finished. Cargo volume is generous; most versions have seats that fold flat into the floor. Many electronic safety aids, like blind spot monitoring, are standard on the Town & Country.”

“Despite a new engine and interior, the Journey is still a mediocre vehicle. The midsized three-row SUV rides well and is quiet, but its lack of agility makes it feel larger than it is. It provides a smooth ride overall, but it’s not entirely settled. The Dodge Journey Lux AWD ($36,795 MSRP as tested,) is powered by a 283-hp, 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers good performance but got only 16 mpg overall. The six-speed automatic transmission doesn’t shift smoothly. Braking is Very Good. The interior had some very nice materials but the execution is haphazard. Cargo space is generous but the third row seat is tiny.”

“Despite their different styling, the 200 and the Avenger are essentially the same mid-sized sedan. The 200 is a mild reworking of the mediocre Sebring. Both models received an exterior face-lift, new interiors, revised suspensions, and a new available V6. But none of that was enough to make those aging designs competitive. Fuel economy was unimpressive, the seats are uncomfortable, and handling and braking are so-so. Both cars provide a compliant ride and good isolation, but frequent body motions make them feel unsettled. The Chrysler 200 Limited ($27,825 MSRP as tested,) and the Dodge Avenger Mainstreet ($22,290 MSRP as tested,) have a standard 173-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is noisy and unrefined and gets 21 mpg overall in CR’s own fuel economy tests. The optional smooth 283-hp, 3.6-liter V6 engine is much more powerful and returns the same 21 mpg overall. The six-speed automatic transmission can be slow to shift. Stopping distances are long. The 200 has a small trunk for its class; the Avenger’s is larger. Trunk space can be expanded in both cars by folding the 60/40-rear seatbacks.”

“The Compass and the Patriot — small car-based SUVs that are uniquely styled but share the same platform — provide a compliant ride and mostly simple controls. Neither is particularly agile; the Compass has lower limits in our emergency handling tests. The Jeep Compass Latitude 4×4 ($24,985 MSRP as tested,) and the Jeep Patriot Latitude 4×4 ($24,400 MSRP as tested,) are both powered by a 172-hp, 2.4-liter four cylinder engine that is noisy and sluggish. The continuously variable transmission shifts smoothly but causes more engine noise as it holds engine speed high during acceleration. Stopping distances are long. The interiors are improved, and most panels fit well but the ambiance is basic and the driving position is narrow. It’s easy to fold down the 60/40 rear seatbacks, which creates a good-sized cargo bay.”

Enthusiasts rejoice with more changes for the iconic Challenger.

The Dodge Challenger rolls into 2011 with its iconic muscle car presence, and more power, efficiency, refinement and features than ever before.

For 2011, the Challenger is available in SE, Rallye, R/T and SRT8® 392 (Pictured) models. Its styling is updated with the front bumper now sporting a larger trapezoidal air intake along with a reworked front duckbill spoiler. The new spoiler generates more aerodynamic down force on the front wheels, which contributes to improved handling balance.

Every 2011 Challenger (MSRP starting at $24,670) now rolls out of the factory on alloy wheels that are at least 18 inches in diameter, giving the coupe a more aggressive-looking stance. The fuel filler door now has a standard bright finish, giving it the look of a classic racecar, and dual chromed exhaust tips are included across the line. Drivers that opt for the 305-hp Pentastar V6 equipped Challenger can get five-spoke 20 x 8-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels and even wider low-profile tires as part of the new Super Sport Group.

The 2011 Challenger now rides on the second-generation E-Segment chassis architecture that has been tuned by Dodge engineers for both a better ride and optimal handling. A reworked brake-pedal ratio and refined brake booster give better responsiveness and feel. The Super Sport Group brings a performance-tuned suspension with larger, performance disc brakes, better steering feedback, larger and wider five-spoke 20 x 8-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels with new P245/45R20 Firestone Firehawk all-season performance tires for improved grip, and a 3.06 rear-axle ratio for improved all-around acceleration.

The biggest mechanical change to the 2011 Challenger is the all-new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, standard in the SE and the Rallye. This lightweight all-aluminum engine reduces the mass over the front wheels for an improved, almost neutral 52.4/47.6 percent front-to-rear weight distribution, which is key to improved handling. Features like dual variable valve timing help the Pentastar engine achieve 305 hp – 55 hp more than the outgoing 3.5-liter V6 – and 268 lb/ft of torque. Even with all the extra power, the 2011 Challenger SE uses less fuel than before, getting an EPA rating of 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. For those who prefer, the Pentastar is FlexFuel capable so it can run on E85 ethanol blends.

Challenger’s 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 has also been improved for 2011 and now generates 376 hp and 410 lb/ft of torque when paired with the refined TREMEC 6060 six-speed manual gearbox in the Challenger R/T. When matched up with the five-speed automatic also found in the V6-powered SE, the HEMI cranks out 372 hp and 400 lb/ft of torque. There’s also a version of the 5.7-liter available that offers Fuel Saver Technology, which gives the Challenger the ability to seamlessly run on four cylinders instead of eight when less power is needed.

For the truly hardcore, there is the Challenger SRT8 392 (or, as autoblog.com called it, the “crème de la Chrysler”), which is now motivated by a new 6.4-liter version of the HEMI that churns out a massive 470 hp and 470 lb/ft of twist. The SRT8 392 rolls on standard 20-inch forged alloy wheels and features huge Brembo four-piston brakes at all four corners.

Getting into the 2011 Challenger is easier thanks to a standard Keyless Enter-N-Go system. A new three-spoke steering wheel has a thicker rim to provide the driver with optimal control and outstanding feedback from the wheels during spirited driving. The spokes on the new steering wheel are equipped with switches that give the driver control over the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC), audio functions and the Uconnect™ voice Command and connectivity system. The shift lever is now wrapped in hand-stitched leather to give the driver a more comfortable interface to the standard AutoStick® automatic transmission control.

Chrysler’s interior upgrades aren’t simply cosmetic; a redesigned structure gives the front seats better cushioning and support, whether you’re taking an extended road trip or hustling down a country road. The new front seats also make it easier to access the rear seats whose passengers are better protected from whiplash injuries thanks to the new reactive head restraints. Those rear-seat passengers will also find that they have best-in-class head- (37.4 inches) and legroom (32.6 inches) compared to other sport coupes while the 16.2 cubic foot trunk (also best in class) allows the Challenger to carry more stuff.

In the driver’s line of sight, the four-pod instrument cluster features new graphics for improved readability and a four-line EVIC for extra information. The optional Nappa leather seating surfaces provide the entire cabin with a premium look and feel.

This year, the Challenger gets new media systems with state-of-the-art connectivity features. The standard Media Center 130 includes AM/FM/CD/MP3 capability, along with an optional SIRIUS Satellite Radio tuner. Every vehicle includes a faceplate-mounted auxiliary audio input for those who want to bring along their own portable players and/or phones. The system can be upgraded with the Uconnect™ Voice Command system, which allows for hands-free Bluetooth calling and audio streaming, as well as a USB port. uconnect allows drivers to play music and use their devices while keeping their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

Dodge Ram 1500 in Stock at Pat McGrath Dodge Country

The 2011 Ram 1500 not only provides the utility and versatility pickup truck owners demand, it also stands out with its classic styling, unique features and powerful engines, making it a formidable contender in the hotly contested pickup market.

Ram pickups have long stood out from the crowd with their unique “big-rig” styling that now has even more of a “head-down, ready-to-charge” attitude thanks to a forward-sloping crosshair grille. The latest generation Ram features a higher glass-to-body ratio than its predecessor and the central pillar on the Quad Cab and Crew Cab models is slimmer, all of which leads to better outward visibility.

Along the sides, the doorsills have been extended to cover the frame rails for a cleaner look. At the rear, a spoiler has been integrated into the tailgate to smooth the airflow off the back. The result is best-in-class aerodynamics with a drag coefficient of just 0.379. Underneath the tailgate, the 5.7-liter HEMI®-powered Ram is the first light-duty pickup to offer a dual exhaust system with chrome tips.

Ram 1500 customers can configure their trucks to meet their specific needs with three cab sizes and three bed lengths. Those who need maximum bed size can get an eight-foot-long bed in combination with the Regular Cab. Those who need to carry extra passengers have two four-door cab options, the Quad Cab, with 34.7 inches of rear legroom, and the Crew Cab, with 40.3 inches of legroom. Any of the three cabs can be equipped with either a three-across front bench seat or a two-seat configuration with large center console.

View Our Dodge Ram Inventory

Rams can be outfitted to meet the needs of almost any customer from a basic work truck with durable vinyl seat coverings to a full-out luxury truck with premium leather upholstery, and two grades of cloth in between. Available power-adjustable pedals combine with power adjustable seats to make sure the driver can choose a comfortable position.

The Ram comes standard with the Media Center 130 entertainment system with six speakers and CD/MP3 playback, SIRIUS satellite tuner and an auxiliary port. The Uconnect™ Voice Command system and a remote USB port are available on some models. The Ram Sport includes the Media Center 430 with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display and 30GB hard drive. Drivers who want navigation can upgrade to the 430N or 730N systems, and Crew and Quad Cab drivers can even get an optional rear-seat entertainment system.

Regardless of seating configuration, the Ram offers plenty of storage space – up to 42 compartments within the cab. The center section of the front bench seat can be folded forward and used as an armrest or business console. The console is large enough to accommodate a 15-inch laptop computer, phones and more. The console offers even more space for the gear drivers need for business and pleasure. The Quad and Crew Cabs also offer latching storage bins under the folding rear seats.

No other manufacturer offers the Ram Crew Cab’s unique RamBox system. RamBox provides weatherproof, drainable, illuminated, lockable storage compartments integrated into both fender sides for effortless convenience. The boxes offer easy access for smaller, frequently used items, so drivers don’t have to reach down into the bed. The boxes offer 7.4 cubic feet of space, enough for each to hold a golf bag, toolboxes, six fishing rods or five cases of 12-ounce beverage cans.

Dodge Ram 1500 is available with three powertrain options, which allow buyers to outfit the truck to meet their needs. The 3.7-liter V6 offers 215 hp and 235 lb/ft of torque while the 4.7-liter single overhead cam V8 generates 310 hp and 330 lb/ft of torque. For maximum towing capability, select the 390-hp 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and get up to 10,450 pounds of trailer-towing potential. Ram trucks are the only full-size pickups to include four- and seven-pin trailer wire connectors as standard equipment.

The Ram 1500 is also the only full-size pickup with a coilspring rear suspension and five links to locate the axle. The coil setup provides the best ride quality of any big pickup, regardless of whether the bed is empty or loaded to the max.

The 2011 Ram 1500 ST starts at just $20,180, and with a huge list of sizes and options, you can find the Ram that fits your lifestyle. Contact us today and let us help you make the choice.

Step Inside the 2011 Journey and Let the Journey Begin

Change is in the air at Dodge, as the brand undergoes a sweeping reinvention focused around great style, improved performance and dramatic, high-quality new interiors. The 2011 Dodge Journey is one of the beneficiaries, coming out of its transformation an even stronger competitor in the crowded crossover market than before. Now the Journey is available at Cedar Rapids dealer Pat McGrath Dodge Country!

Outside, the Journey’s handsome, sculpted lines carry forward with new trim elements adding touches of both bravado and class, LED taillamps and new 19-inch wheels. A completely redesigned and retuned suspension, redesigned steering and premium tires give the 2011 Journey a nimble, composed ride and precise, controlled handling.

Dodge Journey Provides Ample Power with Impressive MPG Numbers

Under the skin, the 2011 Dodge Journey sees a wide-ranging array of improvements. The Dodge Journey Express is fitted with Dodge’s 2.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder World Gas Engine and benefits from new engine mounts that reduce noise and vibration, contributing to a quieter cabin and smoother ride. The 2.4-liter engine delivers a robust 173 hp and 166 lb/ft of torque while returning an impressive 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The Express has front-wheel drive and a four-speed automatic transmission

View Our Dodge Journey Inventory

Journey is equipped with the available V6 (the Mainstreet, Crew, Lux and R/T trims) get a new engine altogether – the 3.6-liter Pentastar. This muscular new six-cylinder churns out 283 hp and 260 lb/ft of torque. Even better, the Pentastar V6 is great on gas; it’s rated at 25 mpg highway in front-wheel drive models. The Journey Mainstreet, Crew, Lux and R/T models are also available with all-wheel drive. AWD Journeys still deliver 24 mpg highway. A new six-speed automatic is standard with the Pentastar V6.

2011 Journey Gets Best-in-Class Interior Overhaul

Even more exciting than the four-cylinder’s improved refinement and the all-new V6 are the modifications made to the Journey’s all-new passenger cabin, which was effectively gutted and replaced with an interior that must be considered among the best-in-class for midsize crossovers. It begins with a soft touch, one-piece instrument panel that replaces a variety of individual pieces, creating a smooth-fitting and seamless look. An all-new gauge cluster faces the driver with larger instrumentation, a full-color Electronic Vehicle Information Center display and red backlighting that provides a warm glow that will be a Dodge brand signature.

Designers then went over every other aspect of the interior and refined it accordingly. Driver knee room has been expanded. The center stack has been reorganized with smoother bezels surrounding the components. The heating and air conditioning vents have been restyled for better appearance and improved functionality. The center armrest is wider, longer and significantly more padded than before. The center storage bin is deeper, and it includes both a USB port and a 12-volt outlet. A new steering wheel greets the driver, and the seats are new as well.

Chrysler’s uConnect® Touch communication and entertainment command center interface is used across the entire Journey range. uConnect Touch 4.3 is found in the value-priced Journey Express and includes a 4.3-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a single-CD AM/FM radio, USB and auxiliary jacks and dual-zone climate control. Voice Command with Bluetooth is available as an option. uConnect Touch 4.3S adds SIRIUS Satellite Radio and song/game alert. It’s standard in the Journey Mainstreet trim.

The full-featured uConnect Touch 8.4 system is standard in the Lux, Crew and R/T trims and upgrades to an 8.4-inch screen. It includes Voice Command with Bluetooth, an SD card reader, DVD playback (in Park), AM/FM/SIRIUS Satellite Radio (the latter with song/game alerts), a USB port with iPod controls and three-zone climate control. Standard on Lux models (available on the R/T), the system upgrades further to uConnect Touch 8.4N, which includes everything listed above, plus Garmin GPS navigation and SIRIUS Travel Link.

Other available features include the ParkSense® Rear Parking Assist system, as well as the ParkView wide-angle rearview camera. There’s also the Mopar Electronic Vehicle Tracking System, which lets drivers keep tabs on their car’s location, assists in stolen vehicle recovery and can send text message alerts if the car is being driven too fast, etc. by another party. Best of all, there’s no subscription required to take advantage of the service. Finally, Journey includes the latest safety features as standard equipment including Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation and a driver’s side knee blocker airbag.

A freshened look, a high-class, top-quality interior, abundant technology features, seating for up to seven and one of the best new engines in the marketplace make the 2011 Dodge Journey an instant contender for anyone looking to upgrade their family vehicle.

Chrysler Makes Strong Showing at Detroit Auto Show

Against the odds, Chrysler goes “From Third World to World Class,” Forbes, Jan. 17

Forbes Automotive writer Joann Muller noticed something different when she wandered through the Chrysler Group exhibit at the Detroit Auto Show: Instead of the smoke and mirrors, the exhibit was packed with some really appealing new vehicles.

The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was a hit; it was selling briskly in dealerships, fueling a surprising spurt in market share for Chrysler, and earning honors as a finalist for North American Truck of the Year, Muller wrote.

But that wasn’t all that caught my eye, Muller said in Forbes:
Redesigned Dodge Durango: Better ride and handling, and just as important, better fuel economy. It was loaded with safety technology too. The interior was decidedly more upscale than its predecessor.

Restyled Dodge Journey: The inside was remarkably improved. The instrument panel was lovely. Together with more comfortable seats and a bigger, softer armrest in the center console,

“The package made me feel like I was in an airplane cockpit,”

Muller said.

The flagship Chrysler 300: The new 300 was still distinctively styled, with a long hood, muscular shoulders and large wheels, but it no longer had that cartoonish “gangsta” look. From the looks of it, Chrysler was deadly serious about reclaiming the 300’s past glory.

Fiat 500: The newcomer is already a proven success in Europe and can be customized with a variety of colors and interiors.

Everyone was buzzing about Chrysler’s turnaround, Muller wrote.

“It’s the most remarkable transformation of an existing production run I’ve ever seen in the history of this business,”

Mike Jackson, chief executive of the country’s largest publicly traded dealer network, AutoNation, said.

“They’ve gone from Third World quality to world class in 18 months.”

The 2011 Dodge Durango is back with more everything.

IMakeNews Inc.

The all new 2011 Dodge Durango has been unveiled and is on its’ way to Cedar Rapids Dodge dealership, Pat McGrath Dodge Country!

How well-equipped is the all-new 2011 Dodge Durango? So much so that Dodge happily points out that there is no “base” model in the traditional sense. No matter which Durango trim level you select, you’re getting a sophisticated, very well-equipped SUV.

The new Durango (MSRP starting at $29,195) comes in Express, Crew, R/T and Citadel trims. It is unlike other SUVs because while it offers the utility drivers want (three seating rows, plenty of storage and cargo space), it’s also genuinely fun to drive, delivering “the refinement and characteristics of a premium performance vehicle,” according to Dodge Brand CEO Ralph Gilles. The Durango’s ground-up redesign resulted in a new unibody whose torsional rigidity surpasses even that of the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. An all-new suspension, aggressive shock and spring rates, large sway bars and a muscular new exterior underscore the athletic nature of this unique new SUV.

Dodge Durango Cedar Rapids Inventory

The fully redesigned interior that greets Durango occupants is among the best in the class, if not the best overall. The theme is “upscale.” Designed by the same team that delivered the stunning new Jeep® Grand Cherokee’s interior, the Durango’s cabin boasts a fanatical attention to detail. Tight panel gaps and premium-grade materials provide a look that’s as pleasing to touch as it is to look at. Regardless of trim, when you touch the Durango’s instrument panel, offered in both monotone and attractive two-tone looks, you’ll be greeted with soft-touch materials. Third-row passengers aren’t left out, as the commitment to high-quality, pleasant surroundings extends to every seating position. Extra care was taken to insulate the cabin from unwanted noise. The quietness that results only adds to the already strong feel of quality that surrounds the passengers.

Whether you’re hauling people, cargo or both, space won’t be a problem. When configured for optimum cargo room, the Durango swallows a maximum of 85 cubic feet of stuff, whether it’s a six-foot couch or 10-foot boards.

Are you interested in the new 2011 Dodge Durango? If so, feel free to email us at sales@mcgrathauto.com or call us at 319-393-4610 to schedule a test drive! Our helpful and friendly sales staff is ready and eager to assist you in your search for a new vehicle!

As it does with its excellent Grand Caravan minivan, Dodge offers an impressive array of leading-edge infotainment technology in the Durango to ensure that everyone in the family stays happy, especially on long trips. In addition to traditional audio systems, drivers can equip their SUVs with features that include uconnect™ Web for Internet access on the go, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, SIRIUS Backseat TV™ and, of course, uconnect-equipped head units with touch-screen interfaces for easy control of everything from your audio settings to your navigation routes.

Safety and security is important in any vehicle, but especially one that’s likely to be embraced by families. To that end, the 2011 Dodge Durango steps up to the plate with 45 safety features that deliver even greater peace of mind. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is standard, as is Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM), which automatically applies the brakes in that pose an increased rollover risk. Both share a common mission: Keep the Durango solidly planted for maximum control. Also available is a Hill Start Assist (HSA) feature and Trailer Sway Control (TSC).

The list of safety-enhancing driver aids goes on. Available Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) keeps drivers apprised of vehicles in the areas not easily seen via the rearview mirrors. Rear Cross Path detection (RCP), another available enhancement, alerts drivers when vehicles are traversing the area behind the vehicle – invaluable when backing up or changing lanes on busy highways. Engineers even went so far as to add a driver-actuated control that drops the third-row headrests when not in use to optimize the view rearward. It’s small details like this that mean a great deal in real-world driving, and that’s why the Durango is a truly innovative sport utility vehicle.

The 2011 Durango offers a pair of world-class engines, both of which deliver a sporty, refined and exhilarating experience. The new DOHC 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) combines an effortless 290 hp (38 percent better than the previous V6) and 260 lb/ft of torque (an increase of 11 percent) with 23 mpg highway fuel efficiency. Tow capacity is best-in-class for a V6.

Durango’s 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with VVT and a fuel-saver mode is a legend in its own right, delivering 360 hp and an awesome 390 lb/ft of torque. Even so, the HEMI Durango still pulls down 20 mpg on the highway with either rear- or all-wheel drive. It’s also a workhorse offering 7,400 pounds of towing capacity – again, best in class. Two full-time all-wheel drive systems are offered. The V8 version features a low-range transfer case for added versatility and easy towing.

The 2011 Dodge Durango has emphatically put the competition on notice. Looks. Power. Refinement. Efficiency. Capability. The new Durango is the total package.

The All New Dodge Charger Available at Pat McGrath

IMakeNews Inc.

The new Charger is fierce, feisty and an American legend at its finest, and now can be found on the showroom of Cedar Rapids car dealer, Pat McGrath Chrylser Jeep Dodge Country!

The Dodge Charger four-door greets 2011 with a new interior, a powerful, efficient new engine, state-of-the-art technology and classic, “fastback coupe” styling cues of the Charger’s storied heritage.

For 2011, the all-new Dodge Charger (MSRP starting at $25,170) comes in SE, R/T and R/T AWD models. Five distinct packages – Rallye, Rallye Plus, R/T Plus, R/T Road & Track and R/T Max – offer high-value content for specific needs. A complete visual overhaul for 2011 gives the new Charger an even more aggressive stance, a variety of 1960’s design cues and undeniable curb appeal. From its lowered hood and faster roofline to its new “split-crosshair signature grille to the snazzy, full-width “racetrack” LED taillamps, the latest Charger is a muscle sedan that will draw admiring (or is it jealous?) stares.

The Charger has an exceptionally quiet and appealing interior. An all-new instrument panel design incorporates premium-grade materials everywhere – dash, seats and trim. Everything you see, every surface you touch, has been finely crafted in a cockpit that is resolutely driver-oriented. Clean new gauges and a thick new three-spoke steering wheel convey the Charger’s inherent performance leanings.

Dodge engineers were fanatical in their quest to control and refine the quality of the noise entering the cabin. To that end, a variety of features and techniques like double-pane glass, triple seals and additional insulation are being employed. Even the wheel wells have been given liners to help improve cabin acoustics, further enhancing the premium nature of the new interior.

High technology abounds. For instance, Keyless Enter-N-Go is standard. The available uconnect™ Touch interface delivers a full plate of advanced information and entertainment features via a straightforward, user-friendly, touch-screen interface. Whether you’re entering a destination in the segment-exclusive Garmin® navigation system or using the indispensable SIRIUS Travel Link service to check gas prices or show times, uconnect makes it so easy, you’ll wonder why you ever went without it.

Are you interested in the new 2011 Dodge Charger? If so, feel free to email us at sales@mcgrathauto.com or call us at 319-393-4610! Our helpful and friendly sales staff is ready and eager to assist you in your search for a new vehicle!

The Charger’s highly sophisticated all-wheel drive system features an active transfer case and front-axle disconnect system that are segment-exclusives. The benefit of this arrangement is that when the conditions don’t warrant the use of AWD, the front axle is disengaged, letting the car operate in traditional rear-wheel drive mode, during which it gets five percent better fuel economy. When the roads get sloppy, the system will seamlessly engage the front axle to deliver the added traction and heightened driver confidence for which AWD is known.

Two world-class engines are offered. The 2011 Dodge Charger SE and Rallye get the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. The 262 hp of this new V6 represents increases of 63 percent and 16 percent respectively over the previous 2.7-liter and high-output 3.5-liter V6s it replaces. Power, refinement and fuel economy are hallmarks of the new Pentastar V6. Returning under the hood of the 2011 Charger R/T is the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which delivers brawny, muscle car oomph and the ability to shut down four of its cylinders under light operating conditions via Dodge’s FuelSaver Technology.

The 2011 Charger is available with several new safety technology features. Among these are Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection and a ParkView backup camera with onscreen gridlines for easier guidance. More than 65 safety features are standard including Electronic Stability Control with segment-exclusive Ready Alert Braking and Rainy Day Brake Support.

Whichever you choose, you’ll find yourself driving an American legend whose story is only getting better with age.

DETROIT — Chrysler Group, continuing its product overhaul, officially took the cover off the redesigned 2011 Dodge Charger sedan today.

The automaker said the latest Charger was “spiritually inspired by the second-generation Charger of the late 1960s.”

It is also one of the most aerodynamic Charger models ever, Chrysler said, with a lower hood line, faster windshield, more radically raked back headlights, tighter wheel openings, lower sill and a race-car-like flat under body.

Dodge said the car will go on sale this year.

The Charger’s new front end includes a sculpted aluminum hood, redesigned front fascia and cross-hair grille, and new headlamps. In the back, the Charger receives a new tail lamp design that stretches across the rear and uses 164 light-emitting diodes.

The base engine in the 2011 Charger is Chrysler’s new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6., which will be on SE and Rally trim levels. The Charger R/T will have a 5.7-liter V-8. All-wheel drive will be offered again as well.

And for the first time, Chrysler said, several safety and security features will be available on the 2011 Charger. They include adaptive cruise control with forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection and a rear backup camera with grid lines.
