On Monday, August 19th, Field Day Brewing Co. in North Liberty will be the place to be as we gather to celebrate the incredible journeys of two remarkable athletes bound for the 2024 Paris Paralympics. This is a night to unite as a community, showing our support for those who will represent us on the global stage.
Meet Erin Kerkhoff from Coralville, IA and Jessica Heims from Swisher, IA. These talented track and field athletes have dedicated countless hours of training, overcoming obstacles, and pushing their limits—all to compete among the best in the world. This is your chance to hear their stories, learn about their careers, and wish them luck as they head to Paris!

Hosted by Track Guy Foundation: Mike Jay
The evening will be hosted by none other than Mike Jay, “The Voice of the Drake Relays” and the founder of the Track Guy Foundation. Mike is renowned for his passion for track and field, and his dedication to supporting athletes at all levels. He will be leading a series of interviews with Erin, Jessica, and their coaches, offering us a unique, behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to compete at the Paralympic level.

- Welcome & Introduction: Mike Jay will kick off the evening with an introduction to the Track Guy Foundation, followed by a Q&A session with Erin and Jessica. This is your chance to hear firsthand about their journeys, challenges, and what drives them to excel.
- Coach’s Corner: After the Q&A, Erin and Jessica’s coaches will take the stage to share their insights and experiences working with these exceptional athletes. They’ll talk about the training, the preparation, and the pride they feel watching their athletes reach new heights.
- Paralympic Preview: Erin and Jessica will return to the stage to discuss their goals and expectations for Paris. What are they most excited about? What challenges do they anticipate? And what does representing their community on such a prestigious stage mean to them? You’ll also have the chance to ask your own questions during an audience Q&A.
