At McGrath, we believe every child deserves the chance to start the school year feeling prepared and confident. That’s why our team and our community came together once again to make sure local kids have the school supplies they need to succeed.
McGrath Cares School Supply Drive
From August 4th–8th, we hosted the McGrath Cares Community Service School Supply Drive across our dealerships. Thanks to the generosity of our customers and community members, we collected more than 800 school supply items. Those donations went directly to help over 90 local students, ensuring they have the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive this school year.
Toyota’s Big Summer Giveback
In addition, McGrath Toyota of Iowa City joined forces with Toyota’s Big Summer Giveback, a nationwide initiative supporting the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF). For every oil change and tire rotation performed during the event, $3 was donated to KINF, providing even more resources for children who need them most.
Backpacks for Local Kids
The giving didn’t stop there. Our team at Toyota of Iowa City partnered with KINF to personally hand out backpacks filled with school supplies at Grant Wood Elementary in Iowa City. Families were able to come to the school, receive a backpack, and fill it with everything their child needed for a successful year ahead—all generously provided by KINF. Seeing the smiles on kids’ faces as they picked out their supplies was a powerful reminder of why these efforts matter.
