With the Chicago Auto Show less than a week away, the automotive world is getting ready for some great releases and exciting displays from the Windy City.
The Chicago Auto Show is one of the oldest auto shows in the country.
The show was first organized in 1905, and while many were skipped during WWII, this year’s event marks the 105th running. Here are a few displays we’re really excited for:
Dodge Challenger R/T Redline: The Redline is expected to be the sportiest Challenger yet.
Considering the already giant prowess of the Dodge Challenger, the Redline could steal the show with its 375-hp, Hemi V-8. The Redline is expected to have a sportier suspension and decorative thin red stripes.
All Kinds of Kias: Kia should be very busy at the Chicago Auto Show, with everything from a new Kia Cross GT concept to a Superman themed Kia Optima Hybrid.
Kia is also expected to release a production 5-door hatchback.
Chevy Cruze Diesel: GM has not released a diesel car since the 1980s, and with Jeep releasing a diesel Grand Cherokee, Chevy wants to get into the game again.
Although news has been relatively quiet surrounding the new diesel Cruze, it is expected to be called the Eco-D and have a range of 700 miles per tank and a possible 42 mpg highway.
The Chicago Auto Show is set to begin on February 7th, and auto journalist, experts, and enthusiasts are flocking to the windy city for two weeks of displays, debuts, and inevitable debates. We’ll keep you posted on all the latest from the show, so stay tuned for more information.
