New for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban

January 15, 2020 By Becca Gardner

2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban upgrade

Recently Chevrolet announced the completely redesigned 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban. For nineteen consecutive years the Tahoe and Suburban have been named the best-selling full-size SUV. Chevrolet has taken these two SUVs to a whole new level to secure the title “best-selling full-size SUV on the market” and here’s why.

To start, we chose the top three biggest changes to come to the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban. Don’t be mistaken, choosing these top three features has been difficult because there are so many exciting changes to come for the 2021 Suburban and Tahoe.

New Diesel Engine Option

To begin, the first improvement Chevrolet made for the Tahoe and Suburban is the all-new diesel engine option. With both the Suburban and Tahoe you now will get three different engine options to choose from.

  • 5.3L
  • 6.2L V8
  • 3.0L Duramax turbodiesel

All-New Look

  • 2021 Chevy Suburban redesign
  • 2021 Suburban extended wheel base

Even at a first, quick glance you can tell the Chevy Suburban and Tahoe are completely redesigned for the year 2021. They’re stunning and even look like the redesigned Silverado. The Tahoe and Suburban are strutting new LED headlights and taillights as well as a quad exhaust system. The biggest change for the Tahoe and Suburban that has everyone excited would be the 6 trim levels you can now choose from. Brand new for 2021 is the High Country trim level and the Z71.

A Look at the 2021 Z71 Tahoe:

If you’re looking for an aggressive Tahoe or even one to go off-road, the Z71 Tahoe is the perfect SUV for you. The Z71 Tahoe stands apart from the line up with its lifted body style, aggressive wheels, front skid plate and red tow hooks. The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 is a powerhouse and ready for any adventure.

More Room Than Ever Before

2021 Suburban interior space

The 2021 Suburban and Tahoe received a size increase making it the two class-leading full-size SUVs in interior space. To get the best idea of how much room you’re gaining with the Suburban and Tahoe from previous years, we’re going to break the numbers down.

Now I know you may be thinking, the Tahoe and Suburban are already big, why add the room? You can never have too much room especially with a family. With the additional space in the Tahoe and Suburban, any adult can comfortably sit in any row.

We’ve covered the top three biggest changes for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban but I want to throw in two bonus changes that have been made.

Smoother Ride

Ride adjustments have been made for the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban. A few of them being:

  • Independent rear suspension
  • Available magnetic ride
  • All-new air ride adaptive suspension

The Air Ride Adaptive Suspension is a segment first, so naturally we CAN NOT forget to include this feature in the biggest changes made to the Tahoe and Suburban. The air ride adaptive suspension raises and lowers the vehicle to adjust to each driving condition to offer optimal comfort.

New Interior Features

Lastly, there are several interior upgrades the Tahoe and Suburban get for 2021. Just to name a few:

  • 8-inch instrument cluster
  • 10-inch infotainment screen – standard on every trim
  • Push button transmission
  • 2 – 12 inch entertainment screens for the rear passengers
