It is said that the Tahoe is the grandfather of all SUVs, but it’s the 2012 Chevrolet Traverse that is big enough to fit eight passengers and still be responsive enough to drive easily. Iowa City drivers use Pat McGrath Chevyland as their trusted dealership for large size vehicles because they trust our service and love to take advantage of our great deals. There is no better value than the Traverse, and we’re excited to tell you why.
Overview
The 2012 Chevy Traverse comes in 4 trims of LS, 1LT, 2LT, and LTZ. All levels have a 36L V6 motor that’s paired with a six-speed automatic. It comes in front-wheel drive, but owners can step up to an all-wheel drive setup, too. The basic engine chugs out 281 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque while the high-end LTZ is capable of 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque because of a dual exhaust system. All in all, the Traverse is capable of hauling 5,200 when properly equipped.
When it comes to fuel economy, the front-wheel configuration is capable of 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway/20.5 mpg combined. The AWD version returns almost the same at 16/23/19 mpg.
