The redesigned 2016 Chevrolet Malibu — available in the L, LS, LT, Premier and Hybrid models — is more fuel-efficient, spacious and technologically advanced than earlier models.
The new 1.5-liter Ecotec Turbo engine with stop/start technology makes the 2016 Malibu 8% more fuel-efficient than the 2015 model, getting 37 mpg highway
and 27 mpg city. The hybrid model gets up to 48 mpg on the highway!
The mid-size Malibu — which is 1.3 cubic feet short of being a full-size sedan — has 1.3 inches more rear leg room and has improved knee clearance.
The Malibu is almost 300 pounds lighter and the wheelbase will be stretched by nearly four inches (101 mm) to enhance overall performance and fuel efficiency.

The new safety features on the 2016 Malibu are Intellibeam headlights, adaptive cruise control, front automatic braking, front and rear park assist, front pedestrian braking, automatic parking assist, forward collision alert with following distance indicator, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, low speed front automatic braking and Teen Driver.
The Teen Driver safety feature gives visual and audible warnings when traveling faster than preset speeds. Plus, the audio from the radio or from any paired device will be muted until the driver and the passenger put on their safety belts.
