This July, McGrath Volkswagen Hyundai of Dubuque is giving customers a simple way to support local nonprofits with Tri-State Trade-In Takeover! You can take care of your vehicle, learn what your current vehicle is worth, or upgrading to something new all while supporting the community.
The Tri-State Trade-In Takeover gives Dubuque drivers a simple way to support local nonprofits all month long. The idea is simple: The More Dubuque Drives, the More McGrath Gives.
Throughout July 2026, McGrath Volkswagen Hyundai of Dubuque will donate to one of four participating local nonprofits. We’ll donate when customers complete an eligible oil change, vehicle appraisal, or trade-in. You choose the organization, and your visit helps support the Tri-State community.
How the Tri-State Trade-In Takeover Works
During the Tri-State Trade-In Takeover, every eligible visit helps support a local nonprofit chosen by the customer.
When you visit McGrath Volkswagen Hyundai of Dubuque, you can choose one organization to receive a donation after completing one of the following actions:
- Get an oil change: McGrath donates $10 to the participating nonprofit of your choice.
- Get your vehicle appraised: McGrath donates $25 to the participating nonprofit of your choice.
- Trade in or sell your vehicle: When you trade in or sell your appraised vehicle to the dealership, McGrath increases the donation to a total of $50.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dubuque
Helping local youth build confidence, develop leadership skills, and access safe, supportive programs after school and during the summer.
Dubuque Veterans Freedom Center
Providing local veterans with a welcoming place for connection, support, resources, and community after serving our country.
Dubuque Humane Society
Supporting animals and families through adoption, education, shelter, and compassionate care for pets in need throughout the Dubuque area.
United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States
Connecting people, resources, and local organizations to improve health, education, and financial stability across the Tri-State community.
Each organization plays an important role in making the Dubuque area stronger, and the Tri-State Trade-In Takeover gives customers a chance to help support the causes that matter most to them.

In addition to supporting a local nonprofit, customers who participate during the month of July will also have the chance to enter for a $1,776 grand prize.
Customers can earn entries by completing eligible actions during the campaign:
- Get an oil change for one entry.
- Get your vehicle appraised at the dealership for one entry.
- Trade in your vehicle for one entry.
The grand prize winner must be present at the August 3rd closing event at McGrath Volkswagen Hyundai of Dubuque to win.
Join Us for the August 3rd Closing Celebration
To wrap up the Tri-State Trade-In Takeover, McGrath Volkswagen Hyundai of Dubuque will host a closing celebration on August 3rd. Customers, participating nonprofits, and community members are invited to join us as we celebrate the impact made throughout the month.
The event will include music, food trucks, the $1,776 grand prize drawing, and a special check presentation for the participating nonprofits. It will be a great opportunity to come together, recognize these local organizations, and celebrate the support generated by the Dubuque community.
*During the Tri-State Trade-In Takeover, McGrath will donate $10 for each qualifying oil change and $25 for each qualifying vehicle appraisal to the participating nonprofit selected by the customer. The appraisal must be completed in store. If the appraised vehicle is traded in or sold to the dealership, the donation amount increases to a total of $50. No purchase, trade-in, or vehicle sale is required to qualify for an appraisal donation. Donations will be made directly to the selected nonprofit after the campaign concludes.
