Improved Handling for the 2017 Kia Sportage

December 2, 2015 By Alexandra Sydor

With a new stiffer structure, new suspension, advanced driver assistance systems and premium interior materials, the fourth generation 2017 Kia Sportage is at the top of its class!

The Sportage now has a stronger structure that is made of 51 percent Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) instead of just 18 percent like its predecessor2017-Kia-Sportage-Exterior-Exterior-Cedar-Rapids-Iowa-City.

The 2017 Sportage offers smoother and more precise steering with 25 percent less friction.

It is available in either FWD or AWD. The Dynamax intelligent AWD senses, anticipates and optimizes traction requirements for all weather and road conditions.2017-Kia-Sportage-Interior-Technology-McGrath

Every body panel on the the 2017 Kia Sportage is new, but it remains recognizable with its sloping roofline and sharply raked rear window. The wheelbase is

The overall length has be increased by 1.6 inches to a total of 176.4 inches. Since the length has increased, the front headroom is 39.3 inches (an increase of .2 inches), the rear headroom is 39.1 inches (an increase of .6 inches) and the rear legroom has increased to 38.2 inches.

With the dual-level cargo floor and widened luggage area, the Sportage now has a cargo capacity of 30.7 cubic feet rather than 26.1 cubic feet.

The 2017 Sportage will be the first Kia to offer UVO 3, which features standard fourteen telematics services, eight GB of music storage, access to onscreen apps and Wi-Fi. Learn more about UVO.

The touchscreen system, dual-zone climate control system, audio and secondary controls re all angled ten degrees towards the driver for easier access.

The Kia will have several safety features: autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert and Bi-HID headlights with dynamic bending light (DBL) technology.
