Every year, the Humane Society of Scott County hosts an exciting ‘Mardi Paws’ celebration that is designed for all animal lovers around the area. This is held in order to raise money for the shelter. The organization’s sole purpose is for the betterment of animal life and Mardi Paws does just that!
What is it?
Mardi Paws Celebration is the Humane Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year. It gives all animal lovers a spot to gather and ‘let the good times roll’, as they say in New Orleans! The event will feature live music from the incredible group, Soul Storm, but the fun doesn’t stop there! Bayside Bistro will cater a variety of authentic Cajun food, and a live auction will take place throughout the night, all in support of the animals!
All of the proceeds will go towards supporting general operating funds and animal support within the shelter!
The Scott County Humane Society is located in Davenport, Iowa, and has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals since 1902. Their primary purpose and mission is to help change the lives of homeless, lost, abandoned, and unwanted pets through programs that promote shelter pet adoption, along with the importance of spay/neuter to control pet population.
They strive to adopt these pets to caring, responsible, life-long homes and to educate the community about responsible pet ownership. Their goal is to give every adoptable animal a second chance.
Where And When
This event will take place at the River Music Experience on 129 North Main Street, Davenport, Iowa. The fun will last from 7-10 pm that night. It’s happening Saturday, March 5th and it’s something you won’t want to miss!
