Tuesday October 20th, 2015 has been marked as a monumental day in McGrath Family of Dealership’s History. The Grand Opening of the McGrath Volkswagen of Dubuque and the Dubuque Used Car Superstore was a complete success and now McGrath Auto is back Dubuque, IA.
During the ceremony, Pat McGrath expressed his joy of returning to the city of Dubuque, his brother years ago owned a Volkswagen Dealership just down the way from the new McGrath Volkswagen of Dubuque location. He recalls coming to visit in his youth and how much he truly enjoyed his trips here, frequenting the local restaurants and spending time with his family.
The Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, the Dubuque Ambassadors, and Dubuque City Officials, Wayne Dremmer & Lynn Sutton presented Pat and the McGrath family with a welcome plaque for the new dealership.
The dinner was catered by Hy-Vee, East Mill Bakeshop & Catering, and Stone Cliff Winery. The community enjoyed the Oktoberfest-styled meal with fresh Bratwurst & Sauerkraut, pretzels, beer, excellent pastries, and delicious wine.
Activities included German-Folk style music from the band ‘The Americana Band‘, free t-shirt stand, and multiple car test drives of different Volkswagen and used vehicles. In addition, there was a re-finished classic Beetle hood for all those in attendance to sign and leave their ‘footprint’ for all to view today and in the future. The staff will be hanging the hood in the dealership as a memento of the celebration and how the community came together to welcome them to the city!
