The Chevy Colorado has won the Motor Trend Truck of the Year title two years in a row!
The Chevy Colorado has an available 181-horsepower, 2.8-liter inline-four Duramax diesel engine. The Colorado and the GMC Canyon are the only midsize trucks to have such an engine.
The Colorado, which is about the same size as the enlarged Tacoma, is engineered to drive more like a crossover. It can tow up to 7,700 pounds and has a 1,547 pound payload capacity.
Motor Trend states that the Colorado Duramax doesn’t feel like it struggles, and that the 369 lb-ft of torque was easily able to tow the max trailer without any strain. No matter how much the Colorado diesel towed, the ride was still smooth and there were no obvious signs that it was hauling a big load.
The Colorado’s smart diesel exhaust brake system uses compression power from the engine to maintain seed and reduce brake wear. There was no need to downshift to engage in engine braking.
The Chevy Colorado Duramax delivers the best-in-class fuel economy of up to 31 miles per gallon on the highway.
It also features Chevy MyLink with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The MyLink is able to make hands-free calling, send texts and it can access your smartphone’s apps, music and maps. Learn what MyLink offers and how to use it here.
Also, the Colorado offers 4G LTE Wi-Fi and up to four USB ports.
