Kia will soon debut its new 2017 Forte, which will offer technology that is typically reserved for premium $30,000 cars.
According to Vice President of Product Planning Orth Hedrick, the 2017 Kia Forte will be available in sedan, coupe and hatch builds to help distinguish itself from its competitors and to provide buyers with plenty of choices.
Kia also plans to redesign the interior and exterior of the 2017 Forte with an 8-inch touchscreen navigation system, active safety technology and HID headlights with a Dynamic Bending Light adaptive headlight feature. Details about the Forte’s exact features are not yet available.
It is predicted that the Kia Forte base model will have a 147 horsepower 2.0-liter I4 engine with 132 lb-ft of torque, and an that there will be an available turbocharged 1.4-liter I4 engine with 128 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque. Plus, it is rumored that there will be a more powerful turbo-four engine that for the coupe or the hatch.
Throughout the past twenty years that Kia has been selling vehicles in the US, six million vehicles have been sold.
Hedrick states that Kia’s main focus is to change the public’s perception of the brand.
