We’re going to need a bigger podium

April 20, 2015 By Tiffany Ventura

And the winner is..

I’ll be honest, this year’s Motor Trend’s Car of the Year took us all a bit by surprise, even the CEO.  Michael Horn, CEO of Volkswagen of America was a little shocked, but completely honored to received this award. While the competition was stiff, the Volkswagen’s 2015 Golf Family earned the top of the podium.

The runner-ups that the  VW Golf beat out included:

      • BMW 2 Series
      • Ford Mustang
      • Honda Fit
      • Hyundai Genesis
      • Kia Sedona
      • Lexus RC
      • Maserati Ghibli
      • Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Not all hatchbacks are created equal.

Volkswagen really turned heads with it’s awesome updated 5.8″ touchscreen display. We all want more technology in our lives that works together, and this display delivers. It links up via BlueTooth to stream your audio from your smart phone. In addition you to make hands free calls, keeping your hands on the wheel where they belong. One last option I really enjoy is they now offer Fender Brand speakers to keep your music turned up in High Definition.

Let the sun shine in!

sunroofVolkswagen engineers didn’t over use lines and no gimmicky details; this makes the Golf one of the few cars in its class that appeals visually to both younger and more mature demographics. The interior provides exquisite details you would typically get in a luxury vehicle like cloth-lined door pockets, to supportive seats, and kept some classic touches like the golf ball shaped shift knob. Lastly, this impressive hatchback provides an option to have a gorgeous view with a panoramic sunroof.

Efficiency and performance both get a boost.

With a standard turbocharged engine and an available torque-filled TDI® Clean Diesel, the Golf provides better performance and efficiency than ever before. Drive one and it might boost your spirits too. The Golf offers a 170 hp 1.8T 4-cylinder TSI® engine. Which delivers up to 37 Hwy MPG 25 City MGP, adding up to great savings at the pump, while not lacking on power. An additional option is the 2.0L 4 cylinder TDI® Clean Diesel engine that gives you 150 hp to get an astonishing 45 Hwy MPG and 30 City MPG!

 Where do you get yours?!
