The Chrysler Group, maker of Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Chrysler vehicles, is preparing quite a display for the 2013 SEMA Show, the premier automotive specialty product event in the world.
Starting Nov. 5th in Las Vegas, the SEMA (for Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show allows manufacturers to display the latest products and concept equipment, and Chrysler is getting in the action with 20 customized vehicles.
Creative Products from The Chrysler Group
The Chrysler Group will have a 15,300 square-foot display area, allowing the automaker to show product concepts on vehicles like the Ram 1500, Jeep Cherokee, and Chrysler 300.
The exhibit will highlight hundreds of Mopar and Jeep parts, with different themes and purposes, including performance, design, off-roading, and convenience.
For example, the Ram Sun Chaser sports a makeshift shower kit and flip-up seatback on the tailgate bench.
The shower kit is stored in the bed-side RamBox container and is powered by an electric pump. The shower head and hose allow for a quick rinse before hitting the road. (See bottom photo gallery for image of shower and hose)
The truck, which is aimed at a surfing crowd, has specific wheels for handling deep sand, all-weather floor mats for long-lasting durability, and a rack specifically designed to carry large and small surf boards.
The truck is painted with a vibrant orange and features a bed-step that allows easy access to gear stored on top.
The Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver carries an original concept roof-rack basket design specifically for storing off-road gear.
The basket not only adds functionality and storage, but it also looks pretty impressive, giving the Cherokee an aerodynamic design while maintaining the utility-based focus.
Covered in Deep Auburn Pearl paint, the Trail Carver rides on traction-heavy Firestone tires and features rock-rails, providing added under-body protection.
Other vehicles at the show include a modified Dodge Durango and a Chrysler 300 that was given upgrades to the interior and exterior.
These are just a few of the vehicles and products that The Chrysler Group plans to display at the 2013 SEMA Show.
While a majority of these products and features are simply concepts, they may become part of Chrysler’s after-market equipment in the near future. Depending on how well it’s received, you may be able to purchase a shower kit for your car!
