Why Cars Are Getting Discontinued

February 21, 2020 By Becca Gardner

Buick LaCrosse

Recently there has been plenty of chatter of Ford, GM, and Volkswagen discontinuing their car lineup. This announcement has left millions questioning why. Why is Ford stopping car production? Why are GM cars being discontinued? Lastly, what cars are being discontinued in 2020? We have the full lineup of discontinued cars in 2020 as well as a reason why.

Why is Ford, GM, and Volkswagen Discontinuing Car Production:

Over recent years, car sales have plummeted so brands like Ford, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, Buick, and Cadillac have shifted their focus on producing more cross-overs, pickup trucks, and SUVs. Car buyers have converted over to cross-overs, compact SUVs instead. The compact SUVs have provided buyers with just as good of gas mileage as a car, more space, and a safer option.

  • Buick Regal
  • Cadillac CT6
