Performance above all else.
Chevrolet engineers worked hard to make the 2016 Camaro the envy of all car owners. A V-6 engine is expected to remain in the base model but there could also be a new four-cylinder option to rival the Ford Motor Company’s Mustang EcoBoost. Rumors state there will be a 6.2L V8 engine available for some models toting an impressive 415-460 hp.
In addition, GM’s Magnetic Ride Control System will provide different modes for your 2016 Camaro to drive in properly. For example the Tour & Sport mode is one that promises to put out quicker responses to throttle & steering inputs. Also for us winter drivers, there will be a mode for Snow & Ice travel.
Under the Hood.
Chevrolet is running GM’s version of the Alpha Platform that is shared with Cadillac ATS. However Chevrolet engineers comment that 70% of the architectural components are Camaro specific. Having this re-design provides the 2016 Camaro with an astonishing 200 pound weight reduction.
I’ll leave you with a quote that I’m sure will stir the competition pot:
Mark Reuss officially went on record saying he is, “very confident that the 2016 Camaro will be faster, more agile, & more fuel efficient than the Mustang.”
