There are five (5) different modes on the Kia windshield wiper lever; mist, off, auto, LO, and HI. To utilize each mode, the lever must be placed in a position to activate the feature. Along with each of these wiper options, there is a new Wiper Service Mode! This mode allows users to raise the wiper arms for service. Below is a step-by-step guide and illustration to utilize each windshield wiper feature.
How to Use Wiper Service Mode
For 2022 Kia Models, the Wiper Service mode lets users place their wipers in the correct positioning for cleaning or to be replaced. Follow these steps, and watch the video below in order to learn one of the newest Kia features!
- Turn the ignition ON and back OFF again. You then have 20 seconds to turn on the Wiper Service Mode.
- Raise the Wiper Blade Control Stalk up, and hold it for more than 2 seconds. The wiper blades will move to the vertical position and stop.
- To lower the wiper arms, turn the ignition ON. Then hold the Wiper Blade Control Stalk up again for more than 2 seconds, this will cause the wiper blades to return to the original “park” position.
How to Use MIST on the Windshield Wipers
What Does Mist Mean on Windshield Wipers? The MIST feature will initiate the windshield wipers to wipe once. Simply push the lever all the way up. To mist your windshield, pull the lever towards you.
How to Turn the Windshield Wipers Off
To turn the windshield wipers “off” from the neutral position, push the lever up one notch. If the wiper blades are currently in the “MIST” mode, pull the lever down one notch. The lever should be placed in-between the neutral and the MIST position.
TIP: Set the wiper to the OFF position when the wiper is not in use
How to Turn the Windshield Wipers to Auto
To enable the “auto” windshield wipers mode, simple keep the windshield wiper in the neutral position. This feature will utilize the Auto Rain Sensing feature while in auto.
What is auto rain sensing? Auto rain sensing is designed to sense the amount of rainfall on your windshield and control the speed of the wipes. The more it rains, the faster the wipe cycle and vice versa. When the rain stops, the wipers will stop.
How to Turn the Windshield Wipers on Low or High
Pull the lever down one notch to utilize the low windshield wiper cycle speed and down two notches to use the high cycle speed.
TIP: To increase the wipe frequency, press the button up and to decrease the wipe frequency, push the button down.
