The McGrath Amphitheater is almost ready for concerts and events, and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this exciting venue! A small opening with a local concert is expected to held on August 30, 2013.
There will be a limited opening season of concerts throughout the fall, and a full slate of events is already being scheduled for next spring, most likely starting around May of 2014.
Proud to Be a Part of Cedar Rapids
This family-friendly venue will be a great part of the increasingly vibrant Cedar Rapids community.
Right now, the McGrath Amphitheater is slightly behind schedule. Wet conditions earlier this year and rising river levels have caused delays in construction, but this hasn’t dampened our enthusiasm for this new venue or the city of Cedar Rapids.
Enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm. People are excited about what is going on in Cedar Rapids, and the business community wants to be out in front and support these facilities.
-Cedar Rapids Mayor Ron Corbett
The initial naming-rights contract is for 5 years, but we honestly hope this partnership lasts much longer.
We expect the McGrath Amphitheater to attract regional artists as well as up-and-coming stars. The types of artists coming to the McGrath Amphitheater will be very diverse, so everyone should be able to attend a concert they will enjoy.
The area will also double as a city park, creating a year-round space for enjoyment and recreation.
This is a great time to be a part of Cedar Rapids, and the McGrath Amphitheater is the perfect venue for us to get involved with. We are proud to contribute to the city’s expanding entertainment and recreation facilities.
When this venue is off and rolling, it will be a great place for the families and individuals of Cedar Rapids to hangout, enjoy some music, and have a great time.
Most importantly, we can’t wait to see you at the McGrath Amphitheater!
