McGrath Auto welcomes DJ Smith to our excellent management team! DJ was promoted to “Used Car Sales Manager” at the McGrath Volkswagen of Dubuque early this month. Jared Fecht pries into the life of the most buzz-worthy employee circling the McGrath Automotive Group.
Jared (Interviewer): What are two things that nobody knows about you?
DJ Smith (Used Car Sales Manager): I don’t have many secrets! I am ambidextrous believe it or not, write with my right hand, throw with my left hand.
Jared: Got to come in handy when working deals right?!
DJ: I also love nature!
Jared: Alright, so, school. Did you grow up around here?
DJ: I went to Dubuque Hempstead. University, Clark College University… and then I got right into car sales.
Jared: And how long have you been in the business now?
DJ: I started in car sales in 2009
Jared: What food can’t you live without?
DJ: The first thing I can’t live without is french fries, I can eat french fries for breakfast lunch and dinner! Can’t live without homemade tacos, and I can’t live without Whatchamacallits!
Jared: Whatchamacallits … I had one today for lunch actually…
DJ: I almost bought a 52 pack at Sams Club but it was like way too much money, way too many calories…
Jared: C’mon now, you’d spread them out a little bit?
DJ: Yeah, one every 3 hours!
DJ Smith came to the McGrath Family in the fall of 2015 and quickly earned his way to the top of used car sales by flaunting his keen senses in customer service and incomprehensible automotive knowledge.
