The Dart offers three powerful and efficient engine options. Most trims come standard with a new 2.0-liter 16-valve Tigershark™ four-cylinder engine that generates 160 hp and 148 lb/ft of torque and returns up to 36 mpg highway.
Buyers can also opt for two engines with MultiAir™ technology – a feature that allows dynamic control of air intake and combustion for a 15 percent increase in low-end torque and a 7.5 percent increase in fuel efficiency. As a result, the available 1.4-liter Intercooled MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder generates 160 hp and 184 lb/ft of torque while achieving up to 39 mpg highway, and a new 2.4-liter 16-valve Tigershark™ MultiAir II four-cylinder cranks out extra muscle to the tune of 184 hp and 171 lb/ft of torque. For those who seek the ultimate in fuel efficiency, an “Aero” model will be available later this year that will push fuel efficiency north of 40 mpg highway.

Equal to the number of engine options are the number of transmission options, including a six-speed manual, six-speed PowerTech automatic and a perfect blend of the two in a six-speed Dual Dry Clutch transmission.
